Your bitcoin shouldn't die with you. Dead Man's Protocol — trustless inheritance with no custodian, no lawyer, no subscription.
An estimated 3-4 million BTC are permanently lost — many because the owner died without sharing access. Traditional solutions require trusting lawyers, custodians, or family members with your keys while you're still alive.
Dead Man's Protocol solves this with a single Bitcoin transaction. Pre-signed, time-locked, encrypted. If you stop checking in, it activates. Your heir receives access. No middlemen.
Under the hood, Dead Man's Protocol uses Bitcoin's native time-lock opcodes — nLockTime and CheckLockTimeVerify (CLTV). The pre-signed transaction is created at setup and stored encrypted on your device.
Your heir receives an AES-256 encrypted backup file. The decryption key is only released when the time-locked transaction becomes valid on the Bitcoin network. The encrypted backup is useless without the key.
Settings → Dead Man's Protocol. Select 3, 6, or 12 months as your check-in period.
Enter your heir's Bitcoin address or create an encrypted backup file for them.
The wallet creates a pre-signed time-locked transaction. Just keep using your wallet normally and check in when asked.
